Choosing the Right Hair Color for Fall

With the chill of the air settling in, it’s time for flannels, boots, and a new hair color! While most lean into a darker color in colder months, there are no rules. However, taking your skin tone into consideration is always a good place to start when choosing a new color for fall. 

The rule of thumb is typically to always have the shade of your hair be about two shades darker or lighter than your skin undertones. Do you have warm, cool, or neutral undertones? Once you determine your skin undertone, all will fall into place. Here is a little secret - take a look at the veins on your wrist. If they are blue or purple, you have a cool undertone - if green, you have a warm undertone - and if neither, you are neutral.

Also pay attention to how your skin reacts in the sun. Do you burn easily and then go right back to pale? You most likely have a cool undertone. Do you tan easily? You most likely have a warm undertone.
